EZOwn Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains what information EZOwn ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the companies that use EZOwn, the people who use it for them, and the data EZOwn works with in connected services such as QuickBooks Online.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, work e-mail, phone number, role and company.
- What your company enters in EZOwn: for example projects, budgets, contracts, invoices, site records and documents.
-
Data from QuickBooks Online. We read it only after an administrator of your company connects QuickBooks through Intuit's sign-in. It covers:
- company information and settings;
- the chart of accounts and tax codes;
- vendors, customers, classes and locations;
- bills, invoices, payments, budgets and financial reports.
We also keep the connection credentials Intuit issues, so EZOwn stays connected.
-
Activity records: sign-ins and actions in EZOwn. We use them to keep the service secure and to give your company an audit trail.
How we use it
We use your information only to provide EZOwn to your company. That means:
- showing your company's figures and records;
- creating records in QuickBooks Online (bills, invoices, payments, journal entries) when someone in your company asks for them;
- checking that figures agree;
- supporting you;
- keeping the service secure.
We don't sell personal information. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't use your company's data to train AI models.
Who can see it
- People at your company, with the access your company's administrator gives them.
- Companies your company chooses to work with on a project, such as a client, a trade or a design team. They see only what your company shares with them.
- Service providers that host and run EZOwn for us, under contracts that require them to protect it.
- Intuit, for the records EZOwn sends to QuickBooks Online on your company's instructions.
- Authorities, when the law requires us to disclose information.
Where it's kept
EZOwn keeps your company's data in Canada.
How long we keep it
We keep your company's data while it uses EZOwn.
- Disconnecting QuickBooks: if your company disconnects QuickBooks Online, EZOwn stops reading it at once and deletes the connection credentials.
- Leaving EZOwn: if your company stops using EZOwn, it can ask us to return or delete its data. We delete it, except what the law requires us to keep.
How we protect it
- Information is encrypted while it travels between you, EZOwn and connected services.
- Only people who need access to run the service have it.
- If a breach of security creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we tell you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to learn how it's been used. Write to us at the address below. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Changes to this policy
We'll post any change here with a new date. If a change matters, we'll tell your company before it takes effect.
